Ordering and Sizing

What is included with my frame?
Frames ship assembled and bare, without glazing, backing, or hanging hardware. This allows you to select the finishing materials and installation method appropriate for your artwork.
Do frames arrive assembled?
Yes. All frames ship fully assembled, including oversize frames.
How do I choose the correct frame size?
Order your frame using the exact dimensions of your artwork. We add the appropriate fitting allowance or floater-frame reveal during production.
How should I measure my artwork?
Measure the exact width and height of your artwork. Enter those measurements when ordering, and we will size the frame accordingly.
What fitting allowance is added to a traditional frame?
We typically add 1/8 to 3/16 inch to the dimensions you provide. This creates enough room for the artwork and other framing materials to fit inside the frame.
What reveal is added to a floater frame?
We typically add a 3/16 to 1/4-inch reveal around all four sides of the artwork. This creates the visible space between the artwork and the frame.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Custom-size frames can be ordered by phone, email, or through the custom-size order form on each product page. There is no additional custom-size fee.
What is rabbet depth, and why does it matter?
Rabbet depth is the depth of the recessed area where the artwork and other framing materials sit. It determines whether the frame can accommodate the combined thickness of your artwork, glazing, matting, backing, or other materials.
What is the difference between a traditional frame and a floater frame?
A traditional frame overlaps the edge of the artwork with a lip at the front of the frame. It can be used with paintings, panels, glazing, matting, and backing materials. A floater frame leaves a visible space between the artwork and the frame, creating the appearance that the artwork is floating. Floater frames are intended primarily for stretched canvases and panels that can be secured from behind.
Can you help me select a frame?
Of course. Tell us about your artwork and the requirements of your project, and we can help you identify appropriate frame profiles and samples to view in person.

Samples and Pricing

How do I order corner samples?
Corner samples can be ordered through our Corner Samples collection or by selecting the sample option on an individual product page.
Are the corner samples really free?
Yes. Your first six corner samples are free, and all corner-sample orders ship free.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. There is no minimum order quantity.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. Our volume discounts begin with 10% off six or more frames of the same profile and size. Additional pricing may be available for larger projects and volume orders.
What are six-packs?
Six-packs contain six frames of the same profile and size at a 10% discount. The frames are bulk packed together to reduce packaging and handling costs.
Are your prices actually wholesale?
Yes. We purchase frame moulding in volume and cut and join every frame in our Meriden, Connecticut shop. By selling directly to artists and galleries, we can offer professional-quality frames at prices well below typical custom frame shop pricing. There is no minimum order, and additional discounts are available for six-packs and volume orders.

Production and Shipping

When will my order ship?
Typical production time is 3 to 5 business days. Some orders may require 5 to 7 business days depending on frame size, material availability, and order volume. Please allow approximately two weeks for production and delivery.
Do you offer rush production?
We do not offer paid rush production. Orders are completed as quickly as possible in the order they are received. This allows us to maintain consistent quality and dependable turnaround times for every customer. If you have a specific deadline, please contact us before ordering. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, but expedited production and delivery cannot be guaranteed.
Which frames qualify for free shipping?
Frames measuring 24 × 36 inches or smaller ship free within the continental United States. Oversize frames and volume orders requiring LTL freight may be subject to additional shipping charges.
How are frame orders packed?
Most standard frame orders are packed in individual boxes with protective foam shipping corners. Multiple frames may occasionally be packed together when doing so provides better protection. Six-packs are bulk packed together in one box. Packing methods may vary depending on the sizes, quantities, and contents of the order.
How do oversize and volume orders ship?
Oversize frames and volume orders generally ship by LTL freight. Frames are bundled with protective foam corners, stretch-wrapped, and secured to a pallet.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. Tracking information will be sent when your order ships.

Returns and Damage

Can I return a frame?
Yes. Most orders qualify for free returns. Please review our Return Policy for eligibility requirements, instructions, and information about return shipping.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact us promptly and include: Your order number, Photos of the damaged frame, Photos of the shipping box or pallet. Please retain the damaged frame and all packaging materials until we have reviewed the damage.

Local Services

Can I purchase glass, matboard, acrylic, and other framing materials locally?
Yes. Glass, matboard, acrylic, hardware, and other framing materials are available for pickup at our Meriden, Connecticut location.
Can I pick up my order in Meriden?
Yes. Local customers are welcome to select pickup when ordering. We will notify you when your order is ready.
Do you offer full-service custom framing?
Yes. Full-service custom framing is available at our Meriden showroom.
